Final Resting Place

December 6th, 2006 by: Andy Aplikowski

Well, BvW is in her final resting place. You have successfully navigated to it. What? You didn’t do anything different? Yes, yes, exactly. Through some fancy tech hubabalou, I’ve moved BvW to s space on Residualforces.com but the BvW.com still works. I’ll keep this up for as long as I see the point of registering the domain name. So da new home is at da old home’s address.

Anyways, I don’t have much plans for this. Everyone else is off to better and brighter things, so there’s really no need to keep coming back. I just did this for historical purposes for who ever cares to see it. I think there was so much great work done here by Jeff and GOPWingman that it would be a shame to just let it rot in some trash file unseen.

Thanks again to Jeff and GOPWingman, not to mention Bachmann for winning.

Venue Change

November 15th, 2006 by: Andy Aplikowski

I don’t know if anyone is checking back here for new news on Congresswoman elect Bachmann, but we’re all off on other tasks, jobs, and/or blogs now. I will be trying to transfer BvW to a sub directory at my blog Residual Forces in the near future. I am not quite sure how all that will work, but if you check there, I will have something in the sidebar explaining where you can find this info. I am just not really planning on Wetterling to give it one more run in 08. I pray to God that she got the message this time. The 6th says, thanks but no thanks.

Thanks again to Jeff and GOP Wingman. Thanks to the readers, and a big thanks to Eva Young, if you weren’t making a fool of yourself for the past 2 years, there’s no telling what would have happened. Really, you and your merry cast of colorful characters have really run a great campaign to stop Bachmann, so much so that she was one of only a few new Republicans nationwide who won last Tuesday. Really, hats off to you. Well, look at it this way, you don’t have to worry about her affecting laws in the MN Senate anymore.

Anyways congrats to the Bachmanns and campaign staff, and to Michele herself. Do us proud in DC. We need you now more than ever to stand up for good conservative ideas and values.

Wingman adds: I concur with your sentiments, Andy. The anti-Bachmann crowd did so well that Bachmann got a majority of the vote in the 6th.

It’s good to know that Mark Kennedy’s seat is in good hands. I only wish that Kennedy and Bachmann would have been able to work together in Congress. Regardless, I know she will make us proud. Great job, Michele, and good luck.

Congratulations

Congratulations Congresswoman elect Bachmann.

Jeff, way to go. You and GOPWingman did incredible.

GOP Wingman adds: Jeff deserves much more credit than I do. He was the rock star of this blog.

Mission Accomplished!

Michele Bachmann has won! She will be the next Representative to the US House from the 6th District!

Congratulations to Michele and the entire campaign staff!

GOP Wingman adds: Ladies and gentlemen, Congresswoman-elect Michele Bachmann (R-MN)!

Jeff adds: Thanks Andy and Wingman. Thanks everyone for stopping by and reading. That’ll do it for me here on this blog. Good-night everybody!

This is a little schmaltzy, but here’s to all those who worked hard for Bachmann’s victory.

Live from MPR’s UBS Forum

November 7th, 2006 by: Jeff Kouba

7:30 PM - Welcome! I am here at MPR’s palatial World Headquarters in downtown St. Paul. We are on the 5th floor in the UBS Forum. Out the large glass windows on the north side of the forum we can see the Minnesota State Capitol.

Here is the main page for tonight’s event. You can find streaming audio and video there.

I had some difficulty getting into the admin shell, but hopefully that problem is past and I can keep you updated. I am sitting next to JD of MNPublius. Behind me is Matt of North Star Liberty, Robin of Minnesota Monitor. Up and behind me is my buddy Gary from KvM, and at his table is Eva of DMB.

8:00 PM - Polls are closing here in Minnesota. Let the 6th CD results begin!

8:02 PM - Just chatted with Bob Collins of Polinaut. Was nice to finally meet him.

8:23 PM - Sounds like Klobuchar will win. Oh well. MN just chose another Dayton. Northrup is losing in Kentucky. That was a House race that could foretell a long night for the GOP if Northrup loses. CNN has a few dozen votes counted in the 6th CD, but the MN SoS site still has nothing.

8:37 PM - First results in the 6th CD! Bachmann ahead with 9% of the precincts in.

9:25 PM - With 21% of the precincts in, Bachmann’s lead has increased with each update. Most of the votes coming in are from Anoka County, where 76% of those precincts have been counted. Kennedy carried Anoka County by about 6,000 votes in 2004, so Bachmann is right on track. With 30% of the precincts in from Washington County, Wetterling has a decent lead there, so will keep an eye on that. The western counties have yet to report, but they should go for Bachmann. I’ll see if I can find which precincts in Washington County are reporting. Otherwise, I see no worries for Bachmann.

10:03 PM - I checked 6 precincts in Washington. Of those, Bachmann won two that Kennedy won, and Wetterling won four that she won in 2004.

10:31 PM - Sounds like we’re gonna wrap things up here shortly. I was just talking to Eva for awhile. So, should get back to some updates soon.

11:15 PM - Just got back home, turned on the radio to this news…

BACHMANN WINS!!!!

She’s giving her victory speech now!
